Greg Pond is an artist from Oregon currently living and working in Tennessee. He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Georgia and is a professor of art at the University of the South.

Pond's work engages with sculpture and sound as media to encourage a rethinking of the world around us. "Our methods of measurement determine our interactions in the world. I try to re-cast perceptions by making new measuring sticks out of sound and objects. My work is about the nature of our perception and how our modes of understanding the world become manifest in our future and history. I want to investigate the relationship between how we see and the cultural valuations of our surroundings. If we become dislodged from our sense of ourselves, we are provoked towards a re-evaluation of what we encounter.  I compress histories and cultures, alter the pace of time, and distort physical scale to portray a psychological rather than a material realism."
